The Newbies ʼ10-ʼ11

Each new year in CADs brings a new set of members into our wonderful family. This year is no different. Many auditioned but only 27 survived going through. Seventeen new streeters and ten new jazzers will be showing what they can do and why they deserve to be part of the organization in this year's RiB: Culture Shock. Make sure to watch them and cheer them on!

Reason for joining CADs | When I was in first year college, I felt that something was missing in my life. I later realized that it was because I deeply missed dancing. It felt like my college experience was incomplete and uneventful. I then got the courage to try out for CADs in my second year and I was accepted. Presently, CADs has been awesome. I am exposed to so much opportunities like getting to know other dancers and learning different styles of dance. Even though, I am not fully comfortable with everyone yet, I believe that in time CADs will be like a home to me.

Some random facts:
1. I’m scared of dogs.
2. I’ve never had long hair. The longest I’ve gone was shoulder length.
3. I like watching PBB.

Reason for joining CADs | I wanted to make the most out of my last year in college by doing something that I really love doing and that’s none other than to dance...to perform. For five years (since my Sayawatha days), I’ve held off not being a part of any dance org. I couldn’t help it. I gave in at senior year. (haha!) So far, CADs has been awesome! Although it’s been painstakingly hard to keep up with trainings alongside academics, my work at the Ateneo Placement Office and the dreaded senior thesis, I am very grateful to be a part of the CADs family. I get to do what I love doing together with the people I learned to love.

Some random facts:
1. Some of my closest friends know me as “Roxy. ” She’s my pseudo “alter ego.”
2. Aside from dancing, I sing too!
3. I have a knack for hosting and emceeing events (no matter how small they may be)
4. I’m a sucker for colored pens and cute notebooks. In fact, I have bought so much of these but I rarely get to use them.
5. I can live without my cellphone, but I can’t live without my mp3.

2. I hate yellow, but it’s the only highlighter color I use.

Reason for joining CADs | I joined CADs simply because I wanted to be with people who share the same passion as I do—DANCE. I also wanted to grow as a better dancer and performer. CADs so far has been such a great experience. It’s only been a couple of months and yet it has already opened doors for me. CADs has also helped me discover so much things about myself and made me try things I’ve never done before so it’s such a fulfilling exprience.
